Spring Cleaning

 

Ah!  We made it….its SPRING!!!! Yipee !!!  In winter we naturally crave heavier foods to give us more energy to survive the cold. Our energy ( qi) also is more internal and we move at a naturally slower pace.  Now, as the days get longer and spring energy builds things quicken…grow…and its time to clear out any accumulations from winter.  Here are a few easy ways to help your body get ready to get out and enjoy.

Make a salad including baby dandelion greens.  They will help to cleanse your liver.  Adding a salad dressing of equal parts lemon juice and olive oil with further support your efforts.

Get out and go for a brisk walk.  This will improve your circulation, which will pump more blood into your liver so it can do its job better.

Before showering rub your body down with a soft shower  brush or luffa sponge  from shoulder to hand and torso all the way down to your toes, back and front.  This will get the lymph ( that accumulates impurities) moving.
